Robert Wise directs this classic haunted house horror starring Claire Bloom, Julie Harris, Richard Johnson and Russ Tamblyn. The film follows anthropologist Dr John Markway (Johnson) as he investigates the gruesome 90-year history of the supposedly haunted mansion Hill House in Massachusetts. He is joined by Luke Sanderson (Tamblyn), the heir of the former owner, psychic Theodora (Bloom) and Eleanor (Harris), who claims to have witnessed paranormal activity as a child.

Together they witness the supernatural powers of the house first-hand, while Eleanor becomes dangerously obsessed with its mysteries.
